Grand Felicitation of Senior Journalist and Central Information Commissioner Shri Ashutosh Chaturvedi for Four Decades of Fair and Fearless Journalism

New Delhi: Eminent senior journalist and Central Information Commissioner, Government of India, Shri Ashutosh Chaturvedi was felicitated for his more than four decades of outstanding, fearless, and people-centric contribution to journalism marked by fairness, integrity, and commitment to public interest.

Throughout his distinguished journalistic career, Shri Ashutosh Chaturvedi has held important responsibilities with several leading media organizations including Prabhat Khabar, Amar Ujala, Maya, India Today, Sunday Observer, Dainik Jagran, and BBC London. He successfully handled numerous significant national and international assignments and played a key role while accompanying the President of India and other senior officials during foreign visits and special media coverage assignments.

One of his landmark achievements in journalism was his instrumental role in the launch of the BBC Hindi website, which gave a new direction to Hindi digital journalism.

On this occasion, Shri Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi, President of the Accredited Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of Rashtra Times, felicitated Shri Ashutosh Chaturvedi by presenting him with a shawl, memento, and souvenir. While honoring him, he said that Shri Ashutosh Chaturvedi has set an excellent example of fair, courageous, and value-based journalism throughout his career. He added that at a time when the media faces numerous challenges, such senior journalists serve as an inspiration for the younger generation.

He further stated that Shri Ashutosh Chaturvedi’s contribution toward maintaining the dignity and credibility of journalism as the fourth pillar of democracy has been highly significant and inspiring. Through his work, he consistently highlighted issues related to society and national interest, thereby strengthening the highest ideals of journalism.
