Godiyal appointed senior observer with three other MLAs observers for Kedarnath by poll by Kumari Shelja
The Congress high command has given a big responsibility on the shoulders of the CWC member, former Party chief of Uttarakhand Ganesh Godiyal appointing him as the chief observer of Kedarnath By-election. The Congress party has won the Badrinath by poll earlier, defeating the ruling saffron party candidate. Ganesh Godiyal was also the parliamentary candidate of Congress from Pauri Garhwal constituency who drew good crowds and gave a tough fight to the BJP candidate and national media in-charge of BJP at the centre Anil Baluni who has won against him securing good number of votes. The Kedarnath assembly by election is significant because this area is dominated by religion oriented electorates and the BJP always banks on majority community votes by polarising them on religious lines , with Kedarnath being one of the major portal where millions of devotees turn for a obeisance of Lord Kedarnath every year from Uttarakhand and rest of the country including abroad. The prime minister Narendra Modi has been at Kedarnath at least five times to please Lord Kedarnath and had also allocated thousands of crores of Rupees from the central fund for the renovation and beautification of this township including modernisation of Badrinath complex. The Uttarakhand in-charge Kumari Shelja has appointed Ganesh Godiyal as chief observer of Kedarnath by poll with Deputy leader Bhuvan Kapri, MLA, Virendra Jaati, MLA and Lakhpat Singh Butola MLA as observers of this by poll. The Kedarnath by poll has been scheduled for 20 th November and the results will be out on the counting day of 23 rd November.
