GO GREEN JMC, GO GREEN ARAVALLIS” A Plantation Drive by Young, Dynamic, Green Girls

The young dynamic girls of Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi has enthusiastically planted 150 saplings of native trees, shrubs, butterfly host plants and medicinal plants viz. Neem, Tamarind (Imli), Lemon, Drumstick (Sahjan), Curry Leaf (Curry Patta), Hibiscus (Gudhal), Guava, Native Rose (Desi Gulab), Bryophyllum (Pattarchatta), Aparajita, Lemon Grass, Vajradanti. The GenZs have proudly adopted their baby saplings and committing to nurturing and caring for them as they grow. Prof. Sr. Molly Abraham, Principal of the college has expressed her delight to see large enthusiastic student community coming together for the plantation drive reflecting their environmental consciousness and willingness to participate. It is the prestigious honor of Third, Most-Green and Clean Campus awarded to the esteemed institute, across all the Delhi University college. The award reflects outstanding cleanliness, greenery within the college premises and the proactive sustainability initiatives fostering eco and student friendly environment is recognized as an inspiring model for the entire college community.
The plantation drive is conducted in collaboration with various reputed NGOs and organizations including Team Everest, Silent But Strong Foundation, A2D Foundation and Xavier Board of Higher Education in India. The college Horticulturalists Mr. Nandlal and Mr. Neema worked tirelessly in the guidance Mr. Kailash. Dr. Divya Agarwal, Dr. Ruchi Mishra and Dr. A. P. Payal were the guiding force for students. Esteemed team members of Mr. Bhushan (Founder of A2D Foundation) and Shweta Pathak (Founder of SBS Foundation) took a lead in the plantation drive.
