Former Delhi CM Kejriwal protests against attack on AAP MLA Mahendra Goel. Sanjay Singh writes to CEC demanding suspension of Parliament SHO
The AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was in Mangolpuri and Rithala assembly constituencies to campaign in favour of AAP’s candidates Rakesh Jatav” Dharamrakshak” and the sitting MLA Mahendra Goel. After campaigning in Mangolpuri assembly constituency drawing huge crowds and eliciting tremendous positive and encouraging response Kejriwal came to Rithala constituency in support of the injured candidate Mahendra Goel who was attacked by the saffron party goons at Japanese park this morning. The former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was amused and anguished to see injured Mahendra Goel coming on the wheel chair in the public meeting in acute pain under medication taking leave from the hospital where he was seeking medical treatment after being attacked. Arvind Kejriwal briefly narrated the incident saying that he was just coming back from a meeting in Rithala Vidhan Sabha. Our current MLA Mohinder Goyal is contesting elections from there. Today BJP people attacked him so badly that his condition was unbearable. He came on stage in a wheel chair. Do we want such hooliganism in Delhi? Aam Aadmi Party is a party of gentlemen. BJP is a party of goons. Do not hand over Delhi to goons. The entire incident was narrated in a social media post by the former AAP councillor from Rithala Harish Awasthi who was also campaigning peacefully in the morning hours in Sector 11 Park near Japanese park with the intent to meet the morning walkers etc with Mahendra Goel and his team. Both the current MLA Mahendra Singh Goyal and Awasthi were attacked by the goons of the BJP wearing masks seemingly of good health and height giving the impression of being bouncers or wrestlers wrote Harish Awasthi on his Facebook. Narrating the incident Awasthi wrote : In dozens of elections, I had been either the incharge of the elections or supported the candidates as the AAP leader. There were definitely direct or indirect wars with the opponents through words and arrows, but yesterday morning at 9:30 A.M. the local people invited us for tea in a small park in Sector 11 of Rohini, so eight-nine of us went there. After some time, some people came to the park wearing black masks on their faces and started pushing and punching the Aam Aadmi Party MLA. Everyone looked like wrestlers. Two of them were sons of Rakesh Rana/Tiger, who was very close to BJP candidate and former MLA Kulwant Rana. In such a situation, it became clear that all those goons must have been from the same village. MLA Shri Mahendra Goyal suffered serious injuries and foam started coming out of his mouth. We Immediately took him to the hospital. I also got hurt. I also fell due to the shock.
But we restarted the election campaign after 4 hours. I just reached home at 11.30 after giving my last speech wrote Harish Awasthi on his Facebook post.
Meanwhile, the AAP Rajya Sabha MP vociferous Sanjay Singh too sent a letter to the chief election commissioner in Hindi yesterday complaining about the BJP candidate Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, the BJP activists and SHO parliament street regarding attack on AAP activists during the campaigning and creating obstacles in their campaigning. In the complaint addressed to the chief election commissioner Sanjay Singh MP wrote that the BJP workers and supporters of Sahib Singh Verma has in 1 st January misbehaved with a woman worker of AAP Pranali Rawat and Gaurav Singh, Suresh Rawat in the Chelmsford club jhuggis wearing the saffron pattas and caps with BJP symbol etc.The AAP activists have been requesting to the police to take action against against the BJP goons but all in vain. A TV channel camera was also broken during this scuffle. The Rajya Sabha MP has complained against the SHO for favouring the BJP and not coming to the rescue of AAP complainants demanding his suspension and action against the BJP goons. Rajya Sabha MP, AAP Sanjay Singh said that when he reached the spot, the BJP activists termed by him as goons were raising slogans but despite my complaints no action was taken against them said Singh. He urged the CEC to take cognizance of this matter and take immediate action against the SHO and BJP for literally throwing to winds all the norms of election commission and attacking the AAP workers.
