Former Congress MP and candidate from New Delhi Sandeep Dikshit challenges Kejriwal for debate at Jantar Mantar on 31 st January
The former member of parliament from East Delhi and son of the former chief minister of Delhi late Sheila Dikshit known as a development chief minister who ruled Delhi for three consecutive terms, Sandeep Dikshit Congress party’s vociferous candidate from New Delhi assembly constituency has challenged the national convenor of AAP and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to come at Jantar Mantra on 31 st January and answer to his constant queries being skipped by him and take part in this significant debate.
The former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal who is the sitting lawmaker from New Delhi assembly constituency and Sandeep Dikshit’s rival has however not responded to his call till now.
In a letter written to the former Delhi CM and his nearest rival Arvind Kejriwal , Sandeep Dikshit invited Arvind Kejriwal for an open debate between 2 and 3 PM on 31 st January at Jantar Mantar to explain through this debate his several achievements being highlighted by him constantly.
Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit has said that the former chief minister Kejriwal should come with official documents to substantiate his claim and to also prove whether he is right or wrong on his achievements which will be countered by him and others who challenge him.
The letter states : Ever since I have been declared a candidate of the INC for the New Delhi seat , I have constantly challenged you ( Kejriwal) on various issues , claims that you are making regarding your work as chief minister of Delhi and MLA from New Delhi, I have systematically – using Delhi government data – not only questioned , but also shown your various claims to be either totally false or huge exaggerations , bordering in being lies.
He further said in the letter that since now the election date is near you have again started telling all the lies of your so called achievements/ rhetorics. Hence join the debate at Jantar Mantar and answer to all your claims of so called achievements said Sandeep Dikshit to Arvind Kejriwal in his hard hitting letter.
It may be recalled that former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who is the main contestant from New Delhi parliamentary constituency is facing Sandeep Dikshit , former MP from Congress and Parvesh Verma, former MP from BJP.
Kejriwal is representing New Delhi assembly constituency since 2013 who had defeated the then chief minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit and Sandeep’s mother in 2013.
This time, the contest has become three cornered in New Delhi assembly constituency as both the candidates are heavyweights in their respective parties and have been regularly campaigning here whereas Arvind Kejriwal has to campaign in entire Delhi, being the AAP supremo in favour of the 70 assembly candidates of AAP.
The Prime minister Narendra Modi, Union hine minister Amit Shah, J.P. Nadda,Yogi Adityanath , Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi are hectically campaigning against AAP and Kejriwal in several constituencies if Delhi including New Delhi posing direct challenge to Arvind Kejriwal .
