Former Congress chief Godiyal ready for an SIT probe under the high court judge on the charges levelled against him but also demands high level probe against health minister of the state !

The BJP has levelled serious charges of corruption against the former lawmaker from Srinagar, Garhwal and former chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee Ganesh Godiyal who was also the president of Uttarakhand Congress, few months ago.

The charges are with regard to the alleged corruption of Rs ten lakhs while he was the chief of BKTC. The charges have been levelled by Mr. Dimri, one of the members of BKTC of Uttarakhand and the minister Dhan Singh Rawat has recommended for a high level probe to investigate these serious charges.

Meanwhile, the former CM of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat, the state Congress president Karan Mahara and Ganesh Godiyal have in a press conference terming these charges fictitious and baseless, demanded a high level impartial probe through a SIT chaired by the High Court Judge, failing which the former president of State Congress Ganesh Godiyal has vowed to sit on Dharna outside the residence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He has also demanded a thorough probe against the health minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat levelling serious charges of allegedly generating bills of treatment worth crores of rupees and paying them with regard to those hospitals which were non functional all these years.

Addressing the press conference former Uttarakhand Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal said that he is ready for the probe against him as he has done nothing wrong but would urge the chief minister to also Institute a high level judicial probe into the serious allegations of corruption in the alleged payment of bills of crores of rupees by him being the health minister to the hospitals which were not functional or operative all these years.

He catagorically said that he will meet the chief minister personally and hand over the letter demanding a high level probe against him by a high court judge and also against the health minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat within a week’s time failing which he will be constrained to stage Dharna outside the residence of the CM at Dehradun.

Meanwhile, former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat and state Congress president Karan Mahra termed Godiyal an honest politician who had not accepted any salary while he was the chief of Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee. They asked how can such a politician of integrity involve himself in embezzlement of the fund of Rs ten lakhs and termed these accusations as biased, baseless and fictitious.

Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat while terming this as a vindictive stand of the government said that the party will solidly stand behind him in this struggle.
