Alto car plunged 500 metres down in a ditch in Champawat district

Yet another heartwrenching news is coming in from Barakot Development Block of Champawat district in Kumaon division regarding an Alto Car falling in a five hundred feet deep gorge on Gallagaon Devlimaafi road resulting in the extremely grievous injuries to the Gram Pradhan Navin Kumar and his son Sunil Kumar who have been admitted to the hospital struggling for life. The Village Head was of Dhatihaamba gaon. According to the latest reports this tragic accident occurred when the victims were returning from Lohaghat. The car seemed to be in speed with the man in the steering not able to control it.
According to the information received, the village head of Dhatigamba village council, Naveen Kumar, son of Mahesh Ram, was returning to his village from Lohaghat with his son Sunil Kumar in an Auto car number UK 03-2484. Meanwhile, near Basauti web, the vehicle suddenly lost control and the car fell into a deep ditch below the bike. According to the information, the vehicle kept rolling down into the ditch for several hundred meters, due to which the car got completely destroyed and both the people in it got seriously injured.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the villagers from nearby areas rushed to the spot and started relief and rescue operations under difficult circumstances. After a lot of hard work, the locals pulled both the injured out of the ditch and with the help of a private vehicle, took them to the sub-district Hospital for treatment. Doctors at the hospital provided first aid to both of them, but due to the seriousness of their injuries, they were referred to a higher centre for better medical care.
As soon as news of the accident spread, MP and union State Minster Ajay Tamata, Lohaghat MLA Khushal Singh Adhikari, former MLA Puran Singh, Municipal Commissioner Govind Verma, District Minister Subhash Bagoli, and SDM Neetu Dangar arrived at the hospital. All inquired about the well-being of the injured and directed that better treatment be arranged for them.
