Floor test in Maharashtra Assembly postponed for Friday. Rebel MLAs stay put in Goa for another day!
The floor test of the lawmakers in Maharashtra assembly accorded green signal to the governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari’s directives by the supreme court slated to be held today has been postponed for tomorrow. The orders came from the Maharashtra governor as per the letter sent to MLAs by the principal secretary of Maharashtra Assembly. The rebel Shiv Sena and independent MLAs camping in a five star hotel at Goa were to reach Mumbai this morning but they have been stay put there for another twenty four hours. Now they’ll be reaching Mumbai tomorrow reveal sources. Meanwhile, there are reports of Eknath Shinde having met the lawmakers and interacted with them. He has left for Mumbai today. The rebel MLAs under tight security in a five star hotel in Goa would arrive to Mumbai tomorrow in a special plane booked for them. For the time being the hopes and aspirations of Devendra Fadnavis have been dashed till the next day when the floor test takes place in the assembly. Meanwhile, security has bee further tightened at the residences of the rebel MLAs reveal news reports. It may be recalled that the then CM of Maharashtra after the governor issued directives for floor test has approached supreme court but the apex court turned down his appeal giving a go through to the governor’s decision. Yesterday, the outgoing CM Udhav Thakrey had met the governor along with his son, Aditya Thakrey n ministers and submitted his resignation letter.
