Final adieu to brave girl Ankita Bhandari at Srinagar, Garhwal amid thousands of men n women in tears raising slogans hailing her n demanding death to culprits !

The brave 19 year girl of Shrikot, Pauri Garhwal Uttarakhand who was brutally murdered and thrown in Shakti Canal near Chila in Rishikesh missing since 18 th September and her culprits behind bars have been finally consigned to flames at Srinagar, Garhwal on the banks of river Alaknanda amid chanting of spiritual mantras and raising of slogans hailing her and denouncing the government and the human beasts, demanding nothing else but capital punishment through expeditious trial on fast track court. There were thousands of people from Pauri, Srinagar, Dehradun, adjoining villages especially youths and women n even from other states, all badly angered and infuriated in tears denouncing the BJP government for its poor n lackadaisical attitude in dealing with the culprits leading to Ankita’s gruesome death. Entire Uttarakhand is today in tears and anger over Ankita Bhandari’s brutal killing by a criminal minded son of a BJP’s former state ministerial rank holder father and brother who was currently holding a state ministerial rank as OBC Vice Chairman. The way revenue police of Uttarakhand has handled the situation and allowed the criminals to walk freely for several days before being caught by UK police it has unambiguously given the impression that while this hilly state has become a haven for criminals the law enforcing agencies n police have proved to be incompetent to curb the illegal activities as well as criminals and anti social elements.

The massive cheating and recruitment scam in UKSSSC, Vidhan Sabha and almost all departments of the state has also left a scar n blot on the state’s credibility. The increasing anger n annoyance of the people after this gruesome murder of Ankita can be gauged from the fact that the women n men had thrashed the culprits while being taken to court and torn their clothes urging police to hand them to them. In almost all the parts of the state there have been protest marches n candle processions demanding death to culprits speedily through fast track courts. In Lansdowne several men and women including children took out a candle procession demanding death to the culprits.

According to sources the father of the deceased girls and agitating people agreed to perform the last rights only after chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami agreed on several demands including holding trial on fast track court and reveal various, details of the post mortem report n job to a family member as well as hefty financial compensation.

Meanwhile the senior journalist, anchor and prestigious Magsaysay award winner Ravish Kumar has in his Facebook post written Buldozer is not worth giving justice to Ankita. He questioned if Buldozer that demolished the Resort owned by culprit Pulkit Arya is justice then the bungalows of ministers, leaders and those involved in the govt “Bharti ” ( govt recruitment) scam should have been demolished.

Why have they been spared? He asked. Those who’d got jobs by bribing why had their salaries not stopped till probe ends or not terminated from service questioned Ravish. He added : Buldozer is not justice. Don’t clap on this act nor appreciate it. The decision to bulldoze the resort in which Ankita worked is absolutely wrong. Bulldozing is not symbolic of justice. Status quo of the resort should have been maintained instead he emphasised. He asked : If there were violation of building bylaws or encroachment, those responsible for it – should had been held accountable with questions as to when it was constructed n who were bribed?The register and CCTV cameras should have been inspected to ascertain as to who ( VIPs) had visited the resort in a month’s time. This should have been done transparently. The entire racket of prostitution going on in this resort should be exposed. All evidences should be protected instead of demolishing the resort. Be away from journalists lauding the act of demolition of the resort he cautioned. By the way the ED and CBI is probably not knowing the way to Rishikesh and Dehradun. Would be better if they are told to put the Rishikesh location on their google map, they will reach conveniently concluded Ravish Kumar in a ridiculous tone.
