Congress leaders of Uttarakhand held meeting with Rahul Gandhi and Congress chief M. Kharge at AICC headquarter on important issues of Uttarakhand and on general elections’ preparation
The Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congres president Rahul Gandhi today met the leaders of Uttarakhand Congress at party headquarter in New Delhi to discuss various important burning issues especially the heavy rains and it’s subsequent implications like the natural calamities leading to human and economic loss of the state including issues related to the organisation and other regional as well as national issues.
According to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is today confronting various new challenges. Our regional leaders and activists are formidably confronting and countering the challenges and the anti people policies if the BJP government as a strong opposition force. Our primary objective is to live with amity and peacefully and take the state in the path of progress. The Congress party is incessantly raising the people centric issues and resolving them forthwith. Our current priority should be to provide relief to the affected people of Uttarakhand from ongoing natural calamities and floods including avalanches. We should approach the government authorities to ensure test every possible relief and rehabilitation to accorded to the calamity affected populace. The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi expressed his deepest condolences towards the bereaved families whose family members have died due to massive rains in Uttarakhand and urged Congress men to come to the rescue of the sufferers with full dedication approaching government authorities to ensure maximum possible relief and rehabilitation to the victims and their suffering families. He also urged Congress leaders to tighten their belts to strengthen the organisation at the grass root levels as the national elections are approaching near. Through a Facebook post Rahul Gandhi said in Hindi : Today held a meeting with Uttarakhand leaders under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge just. The Congress party will raise the voice against the injustice done to the youth of Uttarakhand by imposing Agnipath scheme on them and against the women related crimes in Uttarakhand. The party with establish contacts with the people of the state through its state level padyatra wrote Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress general secretary K. C. Venugopal, former Congress president and state CM Harish Rawat, state Congress chief Karan Mahara, Six term MLA and former chief of state Congress chief and opposition leader Pritam Singh, present opposition leader Yashpal Arya, former state in charge Devendra Yadav, Quality Nizammuddin etc were present in meeting who also spoke on this occasion. The state Congress chief Karan Mahara said that various burning issues of the state were discussed in the meeting with the Congress leaders in the presence of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.
