The Garhwal Heroes Football Club has become the Delhi Football premier league champion for 2025-26 at the final match against its nearest rival Royal Rangers at Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi on Sunday, 31 st May, 2026.
This is the victory of Garhwal Heroes Football Club for the second time in the four season tournament of the Delhi Soccer premier league.
It may be recalled that the Garhwal Heroes Football Club has been credited for being the Delhi Soccer Champions four times before the commencement of Delhi Premier League Soccer matches.
Garhwal Heroes is one of the most decorated football institutions entering the finals with a rich legacy winning the prestigious Delhi Soccer championship four times. It is pertinent to mention here that the top five Soccer teams of Delhi have qualified for super five league matches after competing with each team of the premier league held in Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi.
There were in all fourteen teams in the competition out of which five teams qualified for the super five matches viz Garhwal Heroes Football Club , Royal Rangers FC, CISF, Friends United FC and Garhwal Diamond FC.
All the above teams played against each other and the final match of the league was held today between the Garhwal Heroes footballer Club and Royal Rangers FC in which GHFC took the lead by its outstanding performance by scoring one goal against Royal Rangers in the first half of the match.
However, in the second half the concerned and dedicated efforts of the opponent Royal Rangers FC were able to Equalize the match by 1-1. Though both the competing teams did their best to take the lead and win the match but since Royal Rangers has only six points from earlier three matches compared to nine points of the GHFC , the latter became the Delhi premier league Soccer champion despite the Game being a draw.
The man of match award was given to Garhwal Heroes FC player Mr. Bansua and player of the tournament award went to Siddharth of Garhwal Heroes FC. The best goalkeeper award was bestowed upon Mr. Yash , the goalkeeper of Royal rangers. The Champions trophy and the cash prize of Rs. 2.5 lakhs were presented to the winning team of GHFC and a runners up trophy with a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakhs to the Runners Up team namely Royal Rangers.
On the other hand the women premier league championship trophy went to JUBASANGHA with GARHWAL UNITED FC being the runners up. On the occasion of the prize presentation ceremony several dignitaries were present namely Anil Negi,Secretary, Garhwal Heroes Footbal Club, Sunil Negi, editor, Uknationews , Magan Patwal, B.S.Negi, Sukhpal Negi, Rattan Rawat, journalist Rajendra Sajwan, Bharat Bhushan Nautiyal, Raghubir Bisht etc etc in addition to the Executive Council members of the DSA.
