ASHUTOSH NEGI RELEASED FROM PAURI JAIL THIS EVENING AFTER GETTING BAIL. GARLENDED AND LAUDED BY WELL WISHERS

Whistleblower, journalist, social activist and editor of ” Jago Uttarakhand Portal” and Weekly Newspaper Ashutosh Negi had been released from Pauri Jail, situated at Khandiosain about seven kilometres from Pauri township in the interiors in Pauri Garhwal districts after he got a bail in the morning at Kotdwar Sessions Court.

Several movement activists and his friends visited the jail to welcome him with garlands lauding his immense contribution to the cause of late Ankita Bhandari from day one of her mysterious disappearance till date.

She was brutally murdered in Vanantara resort in Yameshwar after she disappeared on 18 th September, 2022, her only fault being that she boldly refused to give special service to a VIP who is still a mystery but her mother has already named the alleged person concerned .

Ashutosh Negi who was forcibly picked a few days ago from Pauri by senior police officer was sitting on indefinite hunger strike at Srinagar indefinite Dharna venue and raising his voice strongly demanding justice for late Ankita Bhandari by a threadbare investigation of the call details of the VIP named by the mother of late Ankita and expeditious stringent punishment to the culprits who happened to be connected with the saffron party earlier and the son of an RSS activist holding the state ministerial rank in BJP state government of Uttarakhand.

After the forcible arrest of Negi on unsubstantiated charges of SC ST Act he was charged with another case for tearing the uniform of a policemen and attacking him when the police had gone to arrest him including using abusive language thus creating an illegal bottleneck in the conduct of duty by policemen.

This morning when the case of Ashutosh Negi came for hearing, the advocates concerned have argued his case so outstandingly that all the arguments of the public prosecutors failed and the honourable sessions judge granted Negi bail on the ground of his arrest being due to political vendetta knowing very well that he was helping the oppressed Ankita Negi’s traumatised family to seek due justice in the case since long. Ashutosh Negi and Mr.Maithani were asked to furnish a personal bond of Rs 40 thousand each as security deposit against the bail. He was released this evening amid cheers and slogan shouting lauding Negi for his heroic deeds.
