Arvind Kejriwal seemed to have been cornered in New Delhi assembly constituency after Sandeep Dikshit and Parvesh Verma, two former MPs stay put against him

As the polling date in Delhi is coming near , the elections schedule being on 5 th January, the campaigning has gained tremendous momentum with prime minister Narendra Modi, union Home minister Amit Shah , defence minister Rajnath Singh, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP chief J.P. Nadda etc addressing massive public meetings in different constituencies of Delhi.

The Congress leader and leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi , AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi , senior Congress leader Ajay Makan etc have also commenced their hectic campaign since today with Rahul Gandhi addressing largely attended meeting at Panchquin Road , near Mandir Marg, New Delhi attending the temple in Harijan Basti to pay his obeisance where decades ago during the pre independence days father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi stayed for several days and also undertook hunger strike.

Rahul Gandhi also campaigned in favour of the former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s son Sandeep Dikshit and sought people’s blessings for him.

The two term former east Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit has been made to contest from New Delhi assembly constituency by Congress high command to corner the former Delhi CM and national convenor of AAP Kejriwal who has defeated the then CM Sheila Dikshit in 2013 and has been representing this constituency since then.

There are reports that Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and several senior leaders will campaign extensively in Delhi during the last six days especially in New Delhi constituency.

The BJP has decided the name of the two term former outer Delhi MP and former MLA of BJP from Mehrauli former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma’s son Parvesh Verma.

These two heavy weights of Congress and BJP Sandeep Dikshit and Parvesh Singh Verma , both former MPs from Delhi have indeed cornered the former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on whose shoulders lies the great responsibility of not only ensuring that his party forms the government in Delhi for the third / fourth consecutive term but he also wins from New Delhi seat.

In view of these two heavy weights of BJP and Congress and concentration of heavyweights of both the parties like Rahul Gandhi and union Home minister Amit Shah, UP CM Yogi Adityanath etc coming in support of their respective candidates against Arvind Kejriwal with no dearth of funds , musle and other resources, it seems that the AAP supremo is stuck in New Delhi , not able to spare time in other constituencies including several challenges in the offing .

According to political analysts while the anti incumbency has also enhanced against the sitting MLA Arvind Kejriwal , the voters have also decreased considerably from 1 lakh 43 thousand numbers to one lakh nine thousands.

This clearly means that a good margin of these shifted voters may be of Kejriwal’s influence also, particularly the middle class government vote, who were quite happy because of water and electricity freebies including other facilities.

However, in terms of Arvind Kejriwal’s over engagements in other Delhi affairs and his being at loggerheads with the prime minister and central government including with Delhi LG most of the time, not much has been achieved in terms of development in the New Delhi assembly constituency and as such the electorates may be annoyed with him.

Apart from this, since now the Congress and BJP have also announced massive freebies on the lines of AAP there are reports that a sizeable percentage of swing voters with AAP due to freebies may probably re shift to BJP n Congress thus affecting the chances of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Despite all this, there are reports that Parvesh Verma of BJP is caught on camera regarding distributing Rs 1100 to voters of J.J.clusters in New Delhi assembly constituency.

In few interviews to electronic news channels several voters have in camera accepted having recieved Rs.1100 each from the workers of BJP candidate from the bungalow No.20 Janpath.

This illegal act may invite the attention of the election commission perhaps as the issue seems to be too hot on television and you tube channels.

Meanwhile, only six days have been left when Delhi goes to polls on 5 th January with counting on 8 th.

The Prime minister Narendra Modi, and senior leaders of BJP , union ministers, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and others have joined the hectic campaigning in Delhi with Delhi having become a most prestigious issue for BJP which is out of power in the national capital territory since 1998.

Since the Delhi polls date is fast approaching the AAP confronting the anti incumbency at several levels due to it being in power in Delhi for more than eleven years , the AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal has roped in the Trinamool Congress MP from West Bengal as well as the Bollywood veteran star Shatrughan Sinha known for his crisp speeches and powerful dialogues especially famous among the Poirvanchalies and Bihari voters living in Delhi in large numbers. Shatrughan Sinha, the star campaigner of INDIA though will campaign for AAP not Congress in Delhi.

He will devote much of his time in the New Delhi assembly well as Delhi CM Atishi’s Kalkaji constituencies as there is much compitition in both these constituencies from rival BJP and Congress party. Shatrughan will also campaign in several trans yamuna constituencies in East Delhi where the Poorvanchali and Bihari voters in the lower echelon of the society matter much and can tilt the pendulam in AAP’s favour after Shatru’s powerful speeches.

It is believed that in Delhi, especially in Trans Yamuna and Outer Delhi areas about twenty five to thirty percent of the voters from the unauthorised colonies, J.J.Clusters and lower echelon of the society hail from Bihar, Jharkhand and Poorvanchali, Uttar Pradesh and have special choice for Shatrughan Sinha as their community’s actor, having seen his super duper hit movies fof the several years.
