Ajay Bhatt gets charge of state minister of defence and tourism. No representation to Garhwal region

The only member of parliament from Nainital Udham Singh parliamentary constituency who defeated the former Uttarakhand CM n now national general secretary by about 3 lakh 40 thousand votes in 2019 has been allocated the charge of Tourism and defence ministry in his capacity as the state minister sworn in on Wednesday. The former union minister of education Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank has been shown the door, though the reasons given for his exit are health complications. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank who had brought in the New Education Policy in the country had recently been back from AIIMS after undergoing treatment for 29 days due to post Covid severe complications. However, there are also unreliable reports that he alongwith health minister Dr. Harshvardhan, Babul Supriyo, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Rattan Lal Kataria, Santosh Gangwar, Debo Shree Chowdhury etc have been asked to resign as the prime minister was not happy with their functioning during their ministerial tenures. Nainital Udham Singh Nagar MP was inducted in the central cabinet alongwith 42 ministers with cabinet and state ministers rank. The charge of two ministries of Defence and Tourism as state minister are being considered as significant portfolios as Tourism is the back bone of Uttarakhand’s economy and every third family of Uttarakhand has their sons in Indian Army serving the borders of the country. The people of Uttarakhand especially those hailing from Kumaon region and saffron party rank and file have expressed their heartiest gratitude to prime minister for inducting Ajay Bhatt in council of ministers. The ousted union education minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was the Member of parliament from Haridwar belonging to Garhwal region. While the people of Kumaon region and BJP leaders n workers from Uttarakhand have thanked prime minister for inducting Nainital Udham Singh Nagar MP and former state party chief Ajay Bhatt in the new council of ministers the people of Garhwal region are disenchanted for not giving any representation to a single MP from Garhwal in the central cabinet. They are annoyed because the newly elected chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also from Khatima, Kumaon region whereas the earlier two chief ministers Trivendra Singh Rawat and Tirath Singh Rawat belonged to Pauri Garhwal. There were speculations that either Tirath Singh Rawat, MP from Pauri Garhwal or Anil Baluni, Rajya Sabha MP will be inducted as state or cabinet minister in the new expansion but instead of giving representation from Garhwal, the sitting union minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank has been shown the door on health reasons which seems to be an indigestible reason despite his good performance having implemented the new education policy and proactive as an intellectual minister always engaged efficiently in in his education ministry functioning. It may be recalled that Leader of the opposition in Uttarakhand assembly before the elections of 2017, Nainital Udham Singh Nagar MP who defeated Harish Rawat with a record margin of about 3 lakh 40 thousand votes had also been the state BJP president Having been elected as Ranikhet lawmaker on BJP ticket twice. The BJP high command has changed three CMs in three and a half months bringing disenchantment in the party leaders n workers in Uttarakhand with several lawmakers expressing their ” NATAJGI” EXASPERATION against the central party leadership. The assembly elections are just eight months ahead and the party seems to be faction ridden with sitting cabinet ministers of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj, Harak Singh Rawat and Yashpal Arya allegedly having grudge on the appointment of the new CM surpassing their prospects as the names of Satpal Maharaj was under consideration but was sidelined thrice just because being an old Congressman and defector his credibility is under question. This has resulted in spreading the rumours that more than thirty MLAs were ready to revolt, though the BJP claims these news as mere rumours speed by the frustrated opposition Congress.
