After Surat, Congress lose one more seat of Khajurao, Indore to BJP after its official candidate withdraws and joins BJP
The major opposition party and an important ingredient of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance has yet suffered another setback after Surat , Gujarat – in Indore, Madhya Pradesh – where its another official candidate Akshay Kanti Bam surrendered before the BJP candidate on the last day of withdrawal of nomination paper.
The earlier was the case of Surat,Gujarat where the BJP candidate has won without anyone being in the contest after the nomination papers of Congress candidate were found incomplete or with errors including that of 8 independents and one BSP pick up.
The Congress leaders have accused BJP for manipulating the cancellation of the Congress candidates nomination papers etc.
It may be recalled that the Congress party has fielded Akshay Kanti Bam from the Khajurao parliamentary seat of Indore , Madhya Pradesh.
The Congress candidate hobnobbed with BJP joining the saffron party after withdrawing from the fray on the last day on nomination.
However, Congress was thinking to name the independent candidate Moti Singh Patel in the fray as Congress candidate after Akshay Bam’s withdrawal but Patel’s nomination paper too was cancelled, resulting in the BJP’s candidate Shankar Lalwani remaining the only candidate in the fray to be elected unanimously as happened in the Surat, Gujarat seat earlier where BJP’s Mukesh Dalal was elected unanimously.
According to the latest news, after the Congress party suffering a second setback in Khajuraio, Indore, the local Congress leaders have expressed disappointment questioning the party leadership to choose Bam as their candidate whose candidature was opposed by them.
Meanwhile, the senior BJP leader of Madhya Pradesh Kailash Vijay Vargiya while posting a photo of Akshay Kanti Bam with him in his car has written in his social media handle X : We welcome the Indore Parliamentary candidate Akshay Kanti Bam under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, JP Nadda and CM Mohan Yadav in Bharatiya Janata party.
