Where cloudburst and massive rains created havoc




After the massive tragedy and destruction at Dharali , Harshil , Uttarkashi few days ago yet another massive rains and cloudbursts have created havoc in Tharali in Chamoli districts leading to few persons having gone missing and colossal loss to properties with the houses and residential complex of the district magistrate and SDM being inundated due to the muddy and silty water five feet above creating choas.

According to the latest news there have been consistent rains since the last few days and subsequent cloudburst leading to two persons missing and massive loss to properties with several houses, shops and cars damaged including falling of trees and boulders etc taking place.

In Tharali market several shops have been damaged as the silt, stones and muck entered there several feet up, a girl has been reportedly missing.

Several cars and vehicles have been damaged by the destruction caused due to massive deluge including huge destruction in Kotdeep and several shops being destroyed in Chepron village including damage to schools in Naeayanbagad and Dewal areas.

The Gwaldam Karnaprayag motor marg is completely blocked with silt and boulders at Meeng Rivulet. Several other motor roads are closed in Tharali according to the latest news.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote in X while expressing his concern on this destruction by nature’s arrogance :
Sad news of cloudburst was received late night in Tharali area of ​​Chamoli district. District administration, SDRF, police have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations.

In this regard, I am constantly in touch with the local administration and I myself am closely monitoring the situation. I pray to God for everyone’s safety.
The relief and rescue operations have been going in on full swing with local police, NDRF , SDRF and army active in relief operations.
