UK Mahila Congress chief Sarita Arya, Vice president Rekha Gupta and general secretary Vandana join BJP. Assured the Nainital seat ticket
The proactive hypocritical character of AAYAA RAM GAYA RAM politics in Uttarakhand has come to the fore with leaders of two national political parties changing sides rapidly.
While a heavy weight cabinet minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat has been shunted out from the cabinet in Uttarakhand n also expelling him for seven years from BJP by its chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for anti party activities, on the hand encouraging anti party activities in Congress, the CM has welcomed the Congress Mahila Congress chief n former MLA Sarita Arya to BJP along with two other state office bearers Vandana, general secretary and Rekha Gupta, Vice President of state Mahila Congress.
Highly annoyed with the Congress leadership for denying her ticket from Nainital Assembly reserve seat from where she was MLA earlier n had contested last time in 2017, former Mahila Congress chief Sarita Arya said that on the one hand the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi gives a slogan of ” Mai Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti hoon”, and assures forty percent tickets to women aspirants, in Uttarakhand Congress the women are being ignored completely, thus throwing the commitment of their leader to winds said Sarita Arya.
She said she had demanded 20% seats for women candidates in Uttarakhand from Congress leadership but her own ticket was at stake.
She thanked the BJP president Madan Kaushik and the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for hearing to her woes and admitting her in Bhartiya Janata Party.
She said that she has full faith in the party’s programmes, policies and leadership and will work hard to strengthen it.
It is believed that former Mahila Congress chief Sarita Arya was denied the Congress ticket from Nainital reserve seat from where she had contested in 2017 on Congress ticket. After the home coming of Yashpal Arya, MLA n former cabinet minister in BJP government and his, son Sanjiv Arya, the ticket for Nainital seat has been confirmed for Sanjiv Arya, the sitting MLA, having won on BJP ticket but now in Congress.
This humiliated Mahila Congress chief Sarita Arya who had few days, ago unambiguously announced that she will quit the party n join BJP if her name was not considered. She waited for few days but after she got clear signals of not getting Congress ticket and subsequent assurance by BJP, she quit n joined BJP today.
