Commotion in Uttarakhand health administration after Delhi CM being infected with Covid 19

After Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal being infected with Covid 19, with his samples send for genome sequencing to ascertain whether he is Omicron positive or not, though claimed by him to be mild infection, there is tremendous commotion in Uttarakhand with city magistrate Kusum Chouhan writing to CMO Dehradun district on the instructions of the district magistrate Dr. Rajesh Kumar to get the entire staff of Bijapur Guest House thoroughly traced and tested for the pandemic as it was here that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal stated and interacted with the Bijapur Guest House staff after leaving for parade ground rally to address the people.

Not only this but the medical staff of Dehradun CMO is also trying to trave all those who had been in close conversation and contact of Kejrival, including several AAP leaders and the AAP’s prospective CM face retired colonel Ajay Kothiyal who were seated with him on the stage and accompanied in his car to parade ground rally. During his speech Arvind Kejrival without mask was seen coughing as well. In a tweet today Arvind Kejriwal gave the information about his being infected with Covid 19. In a tweet he wrote : I have tested positive for Covid 19. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch wid me in the last few days, kindly isolate urself and get urself tested tweeted Arvind Kejrival.

According tk the district surveilence officer Dr. Rajiv Dikshit they have come to know about the leaders and activists including staff members who had come in contact with Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival at Jolly grant airport, Bijapur Guest House, at the parade ground stage, n those who were closeted with him for long till he was in Dehradun. These persons after being traced will be tested for Covid 19 n isolated. They have appealed to all those who had been in close contact with Kejrival to isolate themselves, get tested immediately and exercise all precautions so as to avoid spreading of the pandemic to others in the family n elsewhere.

It may be recalled that during the past 24 hours nearly 37,379 infections have been recorded with 124 deaths at the pan India level. There are currently 1, 80 thousand active cases in the country. In India in total about 1,892 Omicron cases have been detected with Maharashtra being the number one state with 568 Omicron cases followed by Delhi with 382 infections of Omicron. The cases on Omicron and Covid are expeditiously spreading with VIPs too being infected giving a clear indications that not only commoners but politicians at the helm are also irresponsible not following the Covid protocols, though advising others in front of television cameras to gain political mileage.
