After being trolled in social media senior journalist Deepak Chaurasia says, he need not to learn ethics and regulations from anyone but apologise to my well wishers
Senior journalist n anchor Deepak Chaurasia clarified that it was the side effect of overdose of pain killers and not something adverse that the people are thinking about me.
The senior journalist, consulting editor and TV anchor Deepak Chourasia had been in a controversy few days ago when, in one of his shows in, “News Nation”, on the sad demise of CDS Rawat, his wife Madhulika Singh and eleven senior Army officers and staff members, he was seen anchoring the show but not in good taste allegedly giving an impression that he is not able to anchor the show with his tongue blabbering.
While expressing his views on the tragic demise of CDS Rawat in an Army chopper crash his voice was trembling and he pronounced him as a journalist instead of general nor was his name uttered clearly, looking in a shrinking or dwindling mode at times.
The video of this episode of News Nation went viral in social media with lot of negative comments following thereafter allegedly accusing him as over drunk on the show and some saying that the hang over of the previous day still continuing with lot of humorous comments as well. Some termed as disgrace to late Army general and CDS while some wrote, never thought that journalism to come down to such a level etc.
Some of the proactive social media users even posted a picture of Deepak Chaurasia dancing in a marriage function writing that he is in full mood etc.
After two days, the senior journalist gave a written clarification in social media saying that he had been in active journalism for the last twenty five years and therefore do not require anyone’s advice on ethics and regulations. He wrote : I am grateful to all those who have expressed their concern about me.
But think now I should give clarification in this regard. First, whatever you are thinking about me after watching this video is not fully correct or true.
The fact of the matter is that there was a marriage in my family and because of excessive dancing I developed pain in my knee which was already hurt earlier. The old wound started paining again, acutely.
I do not want to miss the show keeping in view the serious matter. I consumed pain killer thinking that I would be able to do justice with the show. Let me tell you that I have a hairline fracture in my knee. I wasn’t aware about the consequences of the pain killer which I had taken in excess ( overdose) .
Thirdly, the way I have been taken to task by talking too much about me is fairly not correct he added. I had been in active journalism for the last twenty five years.
Therefore I don’t think I need any advise regarding ethics or rules from anyone. However, I heartily seek apologies from my well wishers. I am also grateful to my well wishers from various parts of the country who were worried about me he saud. Concluding the message he wrote : Hope I will continue to acknowledge you affection and cooperation in future as well wrote Deepak Chaurasia in his social media post.
It may be recalled that Deepak Chaurasia had been in television reporting and anchoring for 25 years having been associated with Aaj Tak, Zee News, India News n currently in News Nation news television channel as its consulting editor.
