The senior vice president of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee Dhasmana accused the government of first allegedly spreading hatred on communal lines and now diverting 25 lakh tins of Sugarcane to ethenil production this inflating the rates of Sugar by Rs 20 in every kilogram and making poor people devoid of the tea. He even said that the E20 ethenol blending with petrol have damaged the cars, two wheelers and other vehicles making them futile and defunct thus compelling commuters to spend extra budget in the repairs of their vehicles. He announced that the Congress will protest in every corner of the state, block , village and districts against massive inflation in the days to come to ensure that the people of the state organised, and mobilised to bring down the anti people BJP government said Suryakant Dhasmana.
Leading the protest, Congress state vice-president Suryakant Dhasmana said the common man is suffering due to relentless inflation. Petrol and diesel prices have crossed Rs 100, LPG cylinders have become costly, and everyday essentials like sugar, edible oil, vegetables and foodgrains have all become expensive.
He said in the hills of Uttarakhand, people are not getting gas supply for three months, they are waiting in long queues and their hearths are not burning. In Dehradun too, people are facing huge difficulty in getting cylinders.
Dhasmana alleged that due to the wrong policies of the Central Government, the budget of the middle class, women, youth and the poor has collapsed. Household expenses are rising fast while income is not increasing in the same proportion.
The Congress warned that if inflation is not controlled, the agitation will be intensified.
