Communist Party of India Delhi State Council holds felicitation function for youth and students activists who participated in one month agitation

Today, Thursday 30 July, in the evening at the CPI National Headquarters, Ajoy Bhawan, a felicitation ceremony was held for the students and youth who played an important role in the one-month long agitation at Jantar Mantar, Delhi against the NEET paper leak, demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and other issues.

The event was attended by Saurabh Das Cockroach, Chief Spokesperson of the Cockroch Janata Party, and Balakrishnan, a member of the CJP team. Also present were all the students of the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) and the youth of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) who had taken an active part in the movement organized by CJP.

The program was presided over by Comrade Amarjeet Kaur, General Secretary of AITUC and National Secretary of CPI.

First, AISF National General Secretary Dinesh Rangarajan spoke about the history and struggles of AISF.

This was followed by addresses from Dr. Gohar Raza, Shabnam Hashmi, Professor Ajay Patnaik, Professor Arjumand Ara and others.

Comrade D. Raja, General Secretary of CPI, welcomed everyone and highlighted the future role of movements and national issues, while emphasizing the importance of the role of students and youth.

In his address, Saurabh Das praised the AISF comrades for their militant, disciplined movement and leadership, and thanked them. He said that the continuous role played by the AISF-AIYF cadres throughout the movement and their hard work had also played an important part in the victory.

Thereafter, Comrade Amarjeet Kaur thanked all the students, youth and CJP, spoke about the historic struggles of AISF, and thanked Saurabh Das Kakroch, Chief Spokesperson of Kakroch Janata Party, and Balakrishnan for their contribution to the victory of the struggle.

At the end, Saurabh Das, Balakrishnan and the AISF-AIYF comrades were welcomed with a rose flower and a booklet on Bhagat Singh.

Those who felicitated them included Comrades D. Raja, Amarjeet Kaur, Dr. Bhalchandra Kango, Ramakrishna Panda, Dr. Girish Sharma, all CPI National Secretaries, Professor Dinesh Varshney, Secretary of CPI Delhi State Council and National Executive Member, and Nisha Sidhu, National Executive Member, who thanked all the students and youth with rose flowers and conveyed their best wishes for their future.

The student leaders present included Viraj, National President AISF; Aniket Medke, AISF DU; Bittu, Gulab, Chhavi, Aparajita Raja, Sajid, Shubham, Amurta, JNU AISF, Gulab, Saddam and other comrades.

From AIYF, Harish Bala, National Secretary; Shinjo Verghese, Delhi State Secretary; Sajan and others were also honoured.
