Sri Ganganagar Police Arrest 12-14 Accused in Alleged Gang Rape Case of 13-Year-Old Girl, 4 Hotels Demolished

Sri Ganganagar: Rajasthan Police have arrested 12 to 14 people in connection with the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Sri Ganganagar district, officials said.

According to police, the minor went missing from her home on 18 June 2026. Investigators allege that an e-rickshaw driver lured the child and later sold her to a local hotel owner. The girl was allegedly taken to multiple locations and unlawfully confined. It may be recalled that the adolescent victim died due to agony and tremendous mental pressure, as reported by family and local sources.

An FIR has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including charges of kidnapping, trafficking, rape, wrongful confinement and criminal conspiracy. Police said the FIR names more than 30 accused persons and that the investigation is ongoing with more arrests possible.

In response to public anger, the district administration and police carried out a demolition drive late Tuesday night and razed four hotels that were allegedly linked to the crime. A large police force was deployed in the area during the operation. Superintendent of Police Harishankar said the accused would face the strictest possible punishment under law.

Given that the victim is a minor, her identity is being withheld in line with Supreme Court guidelines.

Police have urged people to share any information related to the case directly with Sri Ganganagar Police or through the Child Helpline 1098.

The videos of the culprits, rapists, and human beasts are going viral in social media in which they are being paraded on roads and the police  thrashing them with sticks in broad day light with onlookers watching and condemning them.
