Sea of condolences from President of India to a commoner for the Pride of India Jaspal Rana

The international shooting star Jaspal Rana’s sudden demise has infact shaken the entire country, especially the youth, the sports and the shooting fraternity. Jaspal Rana left for his eternal journey at just the age of 49 leaving his entire family,near and dear ones and his large circle of friends and followers into tears and trauma.

Jaspal Rana’s outstanding achievements at young age fetched for him prestigious Dronacharya and Padam Shree awards apart from good number of Golds and Silver medals in Asian, Commonwealth and prestigious international competitions.

He trained hundreds of budding shooters and brought two back to back Gold medals for the nation in Olympics through exceptional shooter Manu Bakar for whom Jaspal’s sudden passing away was not leass than a Havoc/ disaster and so for the entire family.

The father of late Jaspal Rana, Narayan Singh Rana, former Uttarakhand minister and Uttarakhand’s chief of Rifle Association who groomed Jaspal, another son Subhash and entire family as outstanding shooters is today the biggest sufferer having lost his blue eyed boy who brought name, fame and prestige for the family, Uttarakhand and the nation.

Jaspal proved himself to be an outstanding coach as well and was returning home from Munich, Germany’s International Shooting championship when he suffered a severe cardiac arrest on the plane going straight to the Fortis hospital , getting the stent fixed but unfortunately leaving us all in tragic heartwrenching moments by leaving for the eternal journey never to return back again.

A most adorable boy to the former prime minister of India Atal Behari Vajpayee and to others as well, Jaspal Rana was an extraordnarily a very good human being, soft spoken, sombre and always smiling with no negative feelings. He mixed with friends like an ordinary man having no flamboyance for being an international shooter and an outstanding celebrity. His contribution to the shooting sports is unparalleled, immeasurable and unthinkable whose entire life since his childhood till the age of 49 was dedicated to shooting.

He was not an individual shooter but was an institution in himself and the entire credit for this progress and prosperity goes to his determined father who left no stone unturned to make Jaspal Rana what he was, leaving his job as an SPG commando and dedicating himself for Jaspal, entirely.

There were unaccounted condolences messages for Jaspal Rana after his sad demise with President, Prime minister, Home minister, Defence minister and unaccounted number of VIPs expressing their deepest and heartfelt condolences.

Not a single publication is left which has not written for Jaspal Rana. Jaspal was a household name and an inspiration for entire past and present generation who drew inspiration from his outstanding achievements as an exceptional shooter bringing name and fame for the entire country.

The president of India Draupadi Murmu while expressing her deepest condolences said that the news of the passing of Shri Jaspal Rana Ji is extremely sad. He was a renowned shooter whose exceptional performances brought glory to the nation.

A winner of several medals at global
shooting competitions, he established
himself as an icon of Indian sports. As an athlete and mentor, he made a lasting contribution by nurturing young talent.
His dedication, discipline and
commitment to excellence will continue to inspire generations of sportspersons.I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the sports community said the president Mrs Murmu on X.

The union minister for home affairs Amit Shah while expressing his grief over the passing away of legendary shooter Jaspal Rana said : Deeply saddened by the demise of
legendary sportsperson Jaspal Rana Ji.

He dedicated his life to establishing India’s indomitable mettle in shooting by winning international honors for the nation and by nurturing young shooters as a coach. Rana Ji’s passing is an irreparable loss to the nation. At this moment of grief, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family and milions of admirers wrote the union home minister on X.

The union defence minister Rajnath Singh who is Jaspal Rana’s sister’s father in law was the first union.minister to write on X expressing his grief over this heartwrenching tragedy. He wrote :
I am stunned and grief-stricken by the sudden demise of the internationally renowned shooter Jaspal Rana. Jaspal was not only an exceptional athlete and coach but also an extremely affable, simple, and very kind-hearted person.He played a highly influential role in popularizing shooting as a sport in India.

Jaspal Rana brought glory to India on
the world stage by securing gold medals for the country in the World Shooting Championship and the Asian Games.

His passing is a great loss to the Indian sports world. May God grant strength to his bereaved family to bear this pain. At this difficult time, l extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and admirers.Om Shanti! said the union defence minister Rajnath Singh.

shooter, he brought immense pride to the
nation and later shaped future

the divine land Uttarakhand—upon his passing, and met with the bereaved family members to express his deepest condolences.

Eminent cricketer Yuvraj Singh was also saddened by the tragic demise of his fellow sportsman and dear friend Jaspal Rana. While parting his grief he wrote on X : Saddened to hear of the passing of Jaspal Ranaji. A shooting legend, multiple-time Asian Games and Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and an outstanding coach, he played a defining role in elevating Indian shooting on the world stage. His achievements and legacy will continue to inspire the present and future generations wrote the eminent cricketer on X.
The Zee News while parting their grief and remembering the invaluable contribution of Jaspal Rana as a coach to trainManu Baker excellently thus bringing two back to back Gold medals in Rio Olympics said : The relationship between Jaspal Rana and Manu Bhaker was not just that of a coach and athlete. It was a bond of unbreakable trust, rigorous penance, and an unwavering determination to reclaim lost honor. There came atime when Manu Bhaker’s resolve was
wavering, but Jaspal Rana held the hand of this promising disciple of his. He not only refined Manu’s technique but also mentally fortified her like a rock. The

Lt. General Satish Dua felt incredibly grieved to learn about Jaspal’s demise memorising how the shooting legend trained his son outstandingly. He wrote on X while expressing his condolences : In 1995, I took my eight yr old son Adamya to meet shooting sensation Jaspal Rana at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range. He made my son fire with a pistol. Later my son participated in National shooting competition for four years
because of encouragement shown by Jaspal.

The author of this piece Sunil Negi yesterday went to their Sainik Farm house at late legendary shooter Jaspal’s house to pay his heartfelt tributes knowing this family for long.
