Hundreds of protestors demanding immediate justice and release of Chef Keshav Negi at Jantar Mantar
The massive protest demonstration organised by the inhabitants of Uttarakhand and Lok Manch at Jantar Mantar the other day was indeed a grand success where hundreds of inhabitants of Uttarakhand living in the national capital , the NCR and even several parts of Uttarakhand participated vigorously to express their anger and annoyance over the alleged wrong trapping of the chef of Malviya Nagar Hotel where unfortunately a massive fire took place killing twenty one innocent persons with no fault of theirs but the flagrant violation of the building by laws and the law related to fire hazards carried out by its owner Lovkesh Bajaj n his manager etc.
There were men, women, youngsters, and even senior citizens all demanding justice for Keshav Negi.
There were writers, lawyers, journalists, social activists,artists, theatre activists and politicians irrespective of their ideological affiliations to ensure that their brother Keshav gets due justice and is released at the earliest.
The UKD activists were too in good numbers including its vociferous leader and a relentless fighter , journalist, lawyer and activist turned senior central vice president of Uttrakhand Kranti Dal Ashutosh Negi and its women Wings’ national chief former major of India Army Santosh Bhandari.
Organised by Brijmohan Upreti with the support of several social organisations and NGO there were good number of Uttarakhandies from all sections of the society including members of various hotel employees organisations and progressive activists.
The viciferous journalist Suresh Bhatt of News Nation and Devbhoomi Dialogue , formerly media advisor to the then CM Trivendra Singh Rawat , VP Uttarakhand Congress Dhirendra Pratap, sr.journalist and activist Charu Tiwari, Dev Singh Rawat, BJP leader Jagdish Mamgain, Congress leader Laxman Singh Rawat, Ishwar Rawat and several other representatives of the Uttarakhand social organisations participated in this protest meeting vigorously.
There was a two minutes silence expressing condolences to the bereaved families paying tributes to all those who died in this heartwrenching tragedy in this ocassion.
The protestors demanded impartial and transparent justice for Keshav Negi expressing their total faith in judiciary but accusing those at the helm of power to allegedly conspiratorially trap an innocent fish ( Keshav Negi) to safeguard or protect the crocadile ( the owner and his coteries).
There have been several serious charges under various sections of the BNS against Keshav Negi who according to the protestors was just a chef who had committed no unlawful act but has been charged wrongly under various serious serious sections of the law.
They demanded the impartial probe and justifiable jurisprudence so that a hapless poor chef Keshav Negi doesn’t suffer for the crime which he has actually not committed as justice delayed is justice denied said the leaders during their address to the angered protestorswho were raising anti police and government slogans and peacefully demanding constitutional justice for the victim Keshav Negi carrying playcards with slogans ” accord justice to Keshav Negi” written in hindi on them.
The protestors catagorically said that in order to protect and influential owner of the hotel , an innocent chef is being targeted arbitrarily.
This is for the second time after the unity exhibited at Jantar Mantar in 2016 for late Kiran Negi, that hundreds of Uttarakhandies have collected at Jantar Mantar across political affiliation and ideological barriers in Keshav Negi case.
