After the opening of the Kedarnath Dham and three other ancient spiritual temples , Garhwal Uttarakhand is full of energy, enthusiasm, hectic tumultuous, acrimonious scenes and Chaos with roads towards these spiritual destinations blocked for hours together and acrimonious scenes at Kedarnath.
Several videos are going viral in social media with pilgrims blaming the local administration and complaining about thrashings by the police who is trying to manage the uncontrollable crowd at the Kedarnath Dham precincts.
One of the sufferer, pilgrim whose child was besten by the local police is complaining in front of Camera not to visit Kedarnath Dham as there are no arrangements, discipline and the local administration having no credible arrangement to control the crowd.
He was extremely desperate and tired standing in the queue for several hours but not able to pay his obeisance to Lord Shiva with his child who, he complained of being thrashed by the ( guards) police.
In another video, a child completely dressed in a saffron Dhoti and a saffron pagri is seen going with his father towards Kedarnath temple with a BJP flag in his hand.
The child on the instruction of his father is beating the shopkeeper and the shopkeeper pushing his son felling down. The shopkeeper was taken by the police and dealt with severely, whereas the father of the child is abusing the shopkeeper who too abused the boy and instructing his son to hit the shopkeeper with the stick.
It may be recalled that the child on the instruction of his father who is a professional you tuber is using his child wearing saffron Dhoti with a BJP flag in his hand shouting Modi Modi on the road and shooting his video which ultimately goes viral in social media.
The point is – hundreds of you tubers and those active in social media are making reels, taking videos at the spiritual destinations and creating disturbances as happened in the above case.
There have been lathicharge in the Kedarnath Dham precincts as the crowd was unmanageable and pilgrims are seen breaking the queue and creating ruckus and chaos.
The crux of the entire mismanagement despite the best efforts of the government is the surging crowd day by day and the crowd not being controlled at the entry points. There have been claims by the government of checking the surging crowd at Rishikesh etc but all in vain.
Last year there had been 52 lakhs footfalls in the four spiritual destinations Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yammunotri. As the Summer temperature is surging , so is the crowd and similarly the anger and frustration among the pilgrims creating choas at the sites of these pilgrimages. The police of Uttarakhand is doing its best to control the crowd and manage the queues but ever increasing numbers is adding fuel to fire making the situation more pathetic. Similarly on the All weather roads the traffic is moving at the snails pace and pilgrims suffering for hours together due to traffic jams.
