According to the official reply issued on April 13, 2026, by the AKAM Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, the amount was spent on advertisements published across multiple print media platforms.

He further noted that the RTI Act empowers citizens and strengthens democratic accountability by bringing such expenditures into the public domain. Chaturvedi also called for a broader public discussion on the issue to ensure better clarity and guidelines for government spending in the future.

The letter also mentions that if the applicant is not satisfied with the response, an appeal can be filed before the First Appellate Authority.
