Hundreds of Hosiery Complex workers in Noida become aggressive, burnt a vehicle and destroyed several of them
A protest demonstration that started a week ago among the workers of a Hosiery factory in Noida has today turned into a violent protest with several police vehicles burnt and hundreds of enraged protestors literary on the streets demanding hike in their salaries and wages.
The workers of the Hosiery Complex, Noida were so badly enraged that they pelted stones, damages vehicles including that of police and burnt a car in broad day light. In Noida ‘s history of the last thirty years nothing of this sort happened in the NCR.
It is believed that a meeting was held between the Noida district commissioner Medha Roopam and the labour commissioner, secretary of the state in connection with the wages, salaries of the protesting workers. Probably not finding a satisfactory solution the workers unified/ collected outside the hosiery Complex on Monday morning and resorted to violence, damaging vehicles and burning one of them in flames.
According to various news the protest is a week old and on Saturday too the workers of Hosiery Complex and Eco tech factory gathered and protested including blocked the roads generating more and more anger among the workers.
The police immediately intervened as a result of which the confrontation started between the police and the protesting workers.
When the crowd turned more agitative and aggressive the police resorted to firing in which a woman worker was injured by two bullet wound and admitted to the hospital.
This was also one of the reasons that must have added fuel to fire and the protestors going berserk burning vehicles and damaging them including pelting stones at the police.
There are charges by the representatives of the entrepreneurs , the garment factories of Hosiery complex owners that the outside elements have infiltrated in the movement to make it more aggresive and violent. Now the workers of greater Noida too have joined the protestors of the Hosiery complex and made it more aggresive it seems reveal sources.
