Panchtatwa Ashram , Garhwal at Risk Due to Landslide, Urgent Administrative Intervention Sought

Shrinagar Garhwal/Uttarakhand: Panchtatwa Ashram, operated by the Panchtatwa – The Law of Creation society at Balodi on the Srinagar–Khirsu motor road, is facing a serious threat following a recent landslide. A large accumulation of rocks and debris has gathered behind the ashram premises, posing the risk of a major दुर्घटना at any time.
Patron of the institution, Sriguruji Dr. Manoj K. Juyal, has written to the District Magistrate of Pauri Garhwal, highlighting the gravity of the situation. He stated that the debris is precariously located directly above the ashram’s computer lab, where 16 children were present at the time of the initial landslide. Currently, 32 resident students are staying at the ashram, and their safety remains at constant risk.
The Panchtatwa institution is dedicated to the study and preservation of Vedic sciences, including astrology, Vastu Shastra, and the Upanishads. It also runs a Sanskrit school in Balodi village, integrating traditional knowledge with modern education.
Q1QQDr. Juyal has placed three key demands before the administration:
Immediate clearance of the landslide debris.,
Construction of a retaining wall to prevent future risks,..Inclusion of Panchtatwa Ashram in the regional tourism and cultural map to promote its spiritual and cultural significance, including the Navgraha Temple and Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple.
He has also invited the District Magistrate to visit the ashram to witness the situation firsthand and understand both the institution’s work in Vedic sciences and the pressing safety concerns of the students. The institution has urged the administration to take prompt and concrete action to ensure the safety of the children and to support the promotion of Vedic and cultural tourism in the region.
