Three died after an Innova plunged into a fifteen metre deep gorge on Jauljeebi Munshiyari road
Not a day passes when Uttarakhand doesn’t report about a fatal accident. Its name have become synonymous with fatal accidents and people are fed up questioning as to when would these fatal accidents come down. Isn’t there any remedy to these mounting fatal accidents they question ?
The Uttarakhand newspapers are everyday carrying news about the fatal accidents happening here and there but the departments concern hardly devise any credible ways and means to at least reduce their numbers.
According to the latest news a tragic road accident occurred on Sunday on the Jauljibi-Munshyari road in Pithauragarh district.
An Innova car veered off the road and fell into a deep ravine near Umargada, between Bangapani and Madkot.
Two people died on the spot, while one person succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Another person is battling for his life with grievous injuries.
According to Revenue Sub-Inspector Himanshu Negi, around noon on Sunday, an Innova car (DL 3CCN 3785) suddenly lost control and plunged into a ditch approximately 15 meters deep.
Four people were in the car, all of whom are believed to be residents of Pithauragarh.
The impact was so severe that Lachchhu Negi and Ankit Pandey died on the spot. Meanwhile, Ayush Pant and Devendra Pant were seriously injured. Upon receiving the information, with the help of local residents and police, both victims were pulled from the ditch and immediately transported to the district hospital in Pithauragarh.
Later, according to information received from the hospital, Ayush Pant also died during treatment, raising the death toll in the accident to three.
Devendra Pant is still undergoing treatment. The Deputy Superintendent of Police stated that Dudhtnarthal falls under the Munshiyari police station And the police have started necessary legal action.
The car was retrieved with the crane and is so badly smashed by the several twists and turns it took hitting against the stones etc after falling down in the gorge while in firceful speed.
