Arvind Kejrival and 22 discharged AAP politicians and excise officials including AAP leaders issued notices by Delhi High Court directing them to appear on 16 March

The India’s premier investigative agency CBI received a shot in the arm today when the Bench of Delhi High Court today stayed a portion of the judgement of the Rouse Avenue district court judge who had discharged the former Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival, deputy CM Manish Sisodia and several others including the Tekengana MLC Ms Kavitha in the Delhi liquor Scam case giving them all, a clean chit and issuing them all the notices to appear before the High Court bench of Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma on March 16.

Kindly recall that the Rouse Avenue district court judge Jitendra Singh had few days ago set everyone scot free in the Delhi new excise policy and liquor Scam on the pretext that a special vindictive narrative has been created against the AAP leaders on the statement of the approver and expecting the court to ” join the dots” in a case without any concrete evidence.

The CBI had after being defeated in the Rouse Avenue court approached the Delhi High Court and today was the first hearing.

There were hectic arguments in Delhi High Court with the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appearing for the CBI terming this as the biggest scam in the history and a national shame.

While strongly criticizing the lower court judgement which said that there is no credible evidence against Arvind Kejrival and others Tushar Mehta while lauding the CBI said that they have very meticulously carried out the scientific investigation and collected solid evidences.

He termed the judgement of the lower court discharging all the 24 accused as factually wrong and untenable.

Tushar Mehta further said that the judge has ignored all the credible evidences collected by the CBI giving the clear cut benefit to the accused of the Delhi liquor Scam.

Terming the ruling of the Rouse Avenue Court as acquittal without trial Additional solicitor general Tushar Mehta said that the culprits have been discharged in a serious corruption case of national shame.

He also mentioned about the role of Vijay Nair , AAP’s collector of the bribe muney allegedly accusing him of taking bribes worth rupees from 19 to 100 crores which were used in the elections of Punjab and Goa. This amount was collected under the guise of the new Delhi excise policy, now scrapped which benefitted the liquor lobby of the South extensively.
