Memorandum addressed to the president of India strongly condemning the undignified attacks on Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand and his disciples presented to DM Dehradun

A memorandum was given to His Excellency the President by the Bharatiya Gaukranti Manch and Gausasandh in-charge Mr. Uniyal through the District Magistrate Dehradun for a judicial inquiry of the Uttar Pradesh Government, administration and police who were guilty of hatching a well-planned conspiracy giving an inhuman treatment to Jyotirpeethadhiswar Swami Shri Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati, the supreme guru of the Shankaracharya tradition, on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya.

According to the memorandum presented to Dehradun DM addressed to president India Draupadi Murmu The entire Hindu Sanatani community is deeply hurt and upset by the inhuman, insulting and indecent treatment meted out to Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj by the Uttar Pradesh government and police.

In this incident, not only was the dignity of Shankaracharya ji hurt, but the Dandiswamis, saints, and disciples present with him were also subjected to derogatory behaviour, forcibly removing their clothes, dragging them by their hair, and hitting them with shoes and sticks which is completely unacceptable in any civilized, democratic and constitutional system.

In the video circulated on media and social media, it can be clearly seen and heard that an officer says, “You have blocked the road for two and a half hours”, whereas the police themselves had taken Shankaracharya ji through the same route.

In such a situation, despite being aware of all the arrangements, it seems extremely suspicious that Shankaracharya ji was pressured to get down from the palanquin amidst the crowd on the return route.
The memorandum concluded that this entire incident is a serious blow to Hindu Sanatan Dharma, its Guru tradition and the right to religious freedom and respect guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.
Clear and binding guidelines should be issued to ensure that such incidents do not occur with any religious leader, saint or religious tradition in the future demanded the memorandum.
We have full faith that your constitutional intervention will establish justice and public faith in Hindu Sanatan Dharma, its traditions and the Indian Constitution will remain strong said Mr. Rajeshwar Uniyal at the end of the memorandum.
