Residents of Bastang village , Kolagaad, Pauri Garhwal leaving their village in view of increasing wild bears’ attacks in their village killing their cattles incessantly

The residents of Bastang village at Kolagaad patti under the jurisdiction of Pauri Garhwal district are badly terrified by the wild bears and are believed to be leaving their village in search of other shelters. According to the latest news the terror of these wild bears have created quite a sensation and panic among the local residents as these wild bears are even breaking the cow sheds from above and making the cattle their easy preys. The inhabitants say that if they find the human beings as their easy target they can even attack them mainly the women and senior citizens. According to Kamal Nautiyal and Ramesh Nautiyal, originally a resident of this village in the revenue village Bastang of Gram Sabha Paniya, bears are continuously destroying cow sheds and making cattle their prey.
Since January 2, the same family of Hari Prasad Nautiyal village has become the continuous victim of these wild bears who have incessantly killed six cattle and grievously injured a bull.
The local villagers are in great panic. Gram Sabha head Harshpal Negi and area Panchayat member Smt. Yashoda Dhyani are repeatedly contacting the forest department but unfortunately they are doing the mesre formality by sending their regional staff. When contacted over phone, the forest area officer is not able to find any solution to the problem due to which the local people are very angry. In Garhwal Uttarakhand this wild bear menace has created panic in all the districts of Garhwal, Uttarakhand attacking women going to collect fodder for their cattles and even breaking the cow sheds and attacking the cattles becoming a massive chalenge to the human population as as the domestic pets and cattles thus posing direct threats to human population and their pets but unfortunately the forest and wild life department are proving to be mere spectators. The chief minister and the minister of forest should intervene personally in this menace and come to the rescue of the villagers and come out with a concrete plan of action to get rid of this mounting menace making the lives of cattles and human being completely and directly threatened.
