Another woman injured after a wild bear attacked her behind the Omkareshwar temple, Ukhimath , Garhwal

The wild animal and human conflicts is not coming down in Uttarakhand, especially in Garhwal. The maneater leopard and wild bears have created havoc and are consistently targetting women in Uttarakhand as they are vulnerable going to fields and jungles everyday to arrange fodder ( grass) for the domestic pets and cattles. During the month of November and December roughly there have been more than twenty six attacks and one women had died though rest of them injured grievously on the face, eyes, chest, shoulder etc. There is literally an atmosphere of terror in the interior Uttarakhand including at road sides as Wild bears and maneater leopards are prowling for human flesh in view of the shortage of preys inside jungles. Just today in Ukhimath, Onkareshwar another woman was attacked profusely bleeding by a wild bear who was brave enough to raise noise and resist courageously finally compelling the bear to run away. Some of the village folks after hearing the shrieks of the terrified women also came to her rescue making the wild bear run away by huge noise.
