Garhwal HITESHINI Sabha delegation hand over the memo to Delhi representative of Uttarakhand over increasing human wild life conflict in Garhwal

A delegation of the largest representative socio cultural organisation of Uttarakhand in Delhi established a century ago namely GARHWAL HITESHINI SABHA today met the resident commissioner of Uttarakhand in Delhi and handed him a letter/ memorandum expressing their serious concern demanding stop to the increasing tragic fatalities in various parts of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand in human maneater conflicts.
The delegation was led by Pawan Maithani, the General Secretary of GHS.
The delegation met the resident commissioner in Uttarakhand house at Rouse Avenue and presented him the memorandum in Hindi over the surging human wild carnivores conflict leading to tragic deaths of the innocents in various parts of Uttarakhand.
The memorandum was addressed to the Forest secretary of Uttarakhand urging him to take immediate remedial measures to stop the surging fatalities being caused by the maneaters in Garhwal Uttarakhand in particular.
The memorandum mentioned the recent tragic death of an innocent person in Jeharikhal Lansdowne and highlighted that in the recent past several himan kills by maneaters have taken place in Pauri Garhwal district, Pabao, Pokhra, Khirsu, Nikhil, Yamkeshwar, Dwarikhal etc blocks.
They expressed their serious concerns and said that since mass exodus to towns, cities and metropolises could not be stopped in view of the non availability of adequate schools, health facilities and job avenues the villages are turning into ghost villages and the maneaters and wild bears are entering the villages thus attacking the women, men and children and creating havoc.
This needs to be curtailed immediately said the memorandum of Garhwal HITESHINI Sabha.
