People of Pauri Garhwal heave a great sign of relief after the Uttarakhand govt. hired renowned hunter JOY HUKIL

The Uttarakhand government has finally hired a renowned carnivore contract killer Joy Hukil to whose credit are more than thirty one maneater leopards and tigers having been killed till the year 2018.

After the news of Joy Hukil being hired by the forest and wild life department including the Pauri Garhwal administration spread there was a wave of satisfaction and jubilation among the inhabitants of the district which is considered to be badly affected by the maneater attacks in which three persons are reported to have been killed and one a four year boy of Dewar village injured.

The earlier human kills of maletha, Devprayag, Kaljikhal block and Srinagar etc are not being mentioned here.

The three persons who had fallen prey to the maneater attacks in Pauri Garhwal district were from Koti , Dhandri and Gajalt villages including from a village in Paidolsiun.

In view of the increasing attacks of maneaters and wild bears in Garhwal, Uttarakhand especially in Pauri Garhwal, about 48 schools and aanganbadies were closed for several days as the school going children faced extreme threat from the predators.

The parents of the children were in panic and not in a mood to send their children to schools.

The villagers of Koti, Dhandri, Gajald and Dewar villages were badly infuriated demanding the issuance of the killing orders of the maneaters with immediate effect and protesting vigorously, demanding the visit of the Conservator of forests and the district magistrate forthwith to give them written assurance about their safety and that of their families including hiring of the professional hunters to get rid of the dreaded maneaters.

The District Magistrate of Pauri Garhwal Swati Bhadoriya visited the Gajald village where a young boy Ram Prasad Nautiyal fell prey to a maneater while he had gone to the Temple to light a lamp to pay obeisance to his deity.

She was gheroed by the angry villagers who won’t relent.

However, the crowd was pacified after the DM gave them the assurance that the orders for killing the maneater of this village have been issued.

The earlier order to kill the Dhandri village maneater has also been issued fifteen days earlier but the shooter wasn’t deployed complained the angry villagers to the DM.

Two professional hunters were hired three days before who even fixed the Machaan in the village but till date the maneater couldn’t be either captured or killed.

Though after having hired Joy Hukeel, the residents of Pauri and the affected villages seemed to be jubilant and satisfied as the former has to his credit killing over maneaters in the past providing immense relief to the affected inhabitants of Garhwal and Kumaon.

For the maneater kill professional hunter Joy Hukil carries with him a .375 and a 12-bore rifle, apart from other paraphernalia such as search lights, binoculars, hunter shoes, and a specially designed jacket.

Earlier, he drove a Maruti 800, but now hunts in a Mahindra Bolero SUV. He is
accompanied by an assistant reveal sources.

The predators are master at deception and the hunters despite their best efforts may take a few days, a week and even months depending upon the luck and the situation where the hunter is active including their super intelligence. The job to hunt the maneater is extremely perilous as apart from the high risks involved the predator is exceptionally intelligent and well versed at deception.
