Wild animal attacks are on the rise in the Pauri district. The latest incident occurred in Dobhal Dhandri village near Pauri, where a leopard suddenly attacked a 62-year-old woman on Friday.
The woman suffered serious neck injuries in the attack. With the help of villagers, she was immediately brought to the District Hospital, Pauri, where she is undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the forest department team and DFO reached Pauri hospital, but here they had to face strong anger of the villagers.
People expressed deep anger over the Forest Department’s negligence and the ongoing incidents. Villagers said that less than 24 hours had passed since the woman’s death in Koti village, and now another attack has occurred in Dobhal Dhandri village.
These frequent incidents have created an atmosphere of fear among the people. Villagers say their children travel through the forest daily to school and other errands, making them vulnerable to constant danger.
