PROTEST DHARNA AT JANTAR MANTAR DEMANDING ARREST OF The CULPRITS AND TRIBUTES PAID TO THE MARTYRS OF RAMPUR TIRAHA
A good number of socio political activists today staged a day’s protest Dharna on 2 nd October at Jantar Mantar paying tributes to those activists who were martyred at Mujaffarnagar, UP, Rampur Tiraha, on 2 nd October,1994 when hundreds of peaceful movement activists were heading for Delhi Red fort Uttarakhand rally in buses convened by the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and other social outfits to demand Uttarakhand separate state.
Several women activists were raped and men, wimen and children brutally killed by the police bullets and the policemen and goons of the then ruling party of UP with infuriated people of Uttarakhand accusing the then UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav and his cohorts for this broad daylight massacre.
Around fifteen movement activists were genocidally killed on this black day.
Like every year, today several senior colleagues participated in the programme organised as #Black_Day at Jantar Mantar, the doorstep of Parliament and paid tributes to those brave martyrs also demanding conviction of the officers responsible for this most dastardly and brutal act under the reign of the then Mulayam Singh government and the then Mujaffarnagar district DM who turned a blind eye to this tragedy thus helping the goons and inhuman police at the time of this brutal act resulting in such an unfortunate massacre.
