Uttarakhand governor Baby Rani Maurya submits her resignation to president Kovind?

The Uttarakhand governor Baby Rani Maurya has resigned from her post of governor of Uttarakhand and has submitted her resignation to the president Ram Nath Kovind. Her resignation has raised several questions and speculations especially when she has resigned in between completing only her three years in office, the tenure of which is five years. Her sudden resignation, when the state of Uttarakhand goes to polls after just six months in 2022 also raises certain questions and rumours.

Just a few days ago the Uttarakhand governor had ordered for an inquiry into the dubious affairs of corruption in Uttarakhand open university relating to appointments. There are also speculations that the governor, after her resignation is accepted by president Kovind, may join active politics again and opt for contesting from Agra, Uttar Pradesh for MLA as the elections are due in Uttar Pradesh too, next year.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand chief minister has appointed his close hand man as the chief public relations officer who is in close proximity of Maharashtra governor as well. His name is Puran Chand Nainwal, residing in Delhi. Nainwal had earlier held the state minister rank during BJP government in Uttarakhand appointed as vice chairman of Uttarakhand Andolankari Samittee. In addition to Puran Chand Nainwal, three more appointment were made to the post of public relations officer, Coordinator ( social justice), coordinator ( media), coordinator ( health) and coordinator viz Kishore Chand Bhatt, Ravindra Singh, Raju Singh and Dalbir Singh Danu. All these close confidents of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami have been attached to the chief minister’s office.
