Bangladesh I&B minister inaugurates Bangabandhu Media centre at Press Club of India

Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud today inaugurated the Bangabandhu Media Centre at the Press Club of India in New Delhi.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Mahmud said this initiative will strengthen the Indo-Bangladesh relationship. He said, bilateral relations between both the countries have touched new heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Remembering the contribution of Bangabandhu, Dr. Mahmud said Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had sacrificed his life for the freedom and the people of Bangladesh. He thanked India for playing a critical role in the liberation of Bangladesh saying that it had not been possible to liberate Bangladesh without the India’s pivotal help and contribution.
High Commissioner of Bangladesh in India Muhammad Imran said this is the 50th year of diplomatic relations between India and Bangladesh. Lauding the pivotal role of Indian media in fostering better bilateral relationship between India and Bangladesh Bangladesh High commissioner said, Indian media played a crucial role in Bangladesh’ liberation struggle and promoted India-Bangladesh relations.

The media centre will be equipped with modern facilities. It will have an exhibition hall and library on the first floor of the Press Club of India.

The president of Press Club of India Umakant Lakhera, the secretary general Vinay Kumar and former PCI president Gautam Lahiri also spoke on this ocassion thanking the Bangladesh Information n Broadcasting minister Hasan Mahmud n Bangladesh High Commission for extending their support in setting up of a modern digital media central equipped with the latest facilities at Press Club of India which will help Indian journalists file their stories from here. The minister also inspected the media centre and press Club and interacted with journalists as well.

Kindly recall that this Media centre has been opened to commemorate the birth centenary of Father of the nation of Bangladesh n first Prime minister Shiekh Mujibur Rahman who was the true n trusted friend of India. This media centre after his name is a fittest tribute to the great freedom fighter n founder of Bangladesh.
