This is how and why names are changed. Names of villages, cities and countries are kept or changed at different times on different reasons/basis. This process is continuing even these days and is also in discussion.

But only a few names are discussed. An interesting name change was done recently by the Uttarakhand government. A village in Pithoragarh district was named Khooni.

Whatever may have been the logic behind this name when it was given, but today this name does not sound good. It smells of violence. So the new generation felt that this name should be changed.

He was engaged in this campaign at his level for a long time. But he was not getting success. Lalit Mohan Joshi, who came from this village, who has retired from a senior position in ONGC, took the paperwork in his hands, he met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Dhami ji, since he understands the sentiment, took it forward very fast. He got the Home Ministry to initiate the process of action. In the end, the hard work paid off and this order is the result. Now this village will be known as Devigram.

Congratulations to the people of Devigram and Lalit Mohan Joshi. Salute to your awareness. Congratulations to the Dhami government.
