Out of 320 seats contested the saffron party in Uttarakhand has won on merely 114 seats, UKD claims to have won in good number of seats

Its success rate in the election of Zilla Parishad member fell below 35% says a senior scribe .

The recently held the local elections in Uttarakhand for the posts of Gram Sabha Pradhans and members of district Panchayat have finally come to an end with the results out in 31 st July.
These elections are considered to be very significant from the point of view of measuring the mood of the grass roots electorates who are the actual voters and play an important role in the formation of the state government during the assembly elections. Those being the elections at the decentralised level with individual symbols allotted to each candidate with no role of any political parties directly but the national political parties of Uttarakhand viz BJP and Congress have left no stone unturned to ensure that the candidates backed by them win on majority of seats. These political parties allegedly support their candidates with good budget and other necessary items like the liquor, even currency and sarees etc to entice voters to vote for their supported candidates. Since these elections at the grass roots play as the barometer to test the political trend that may help national parties to assess their chances of victory in future, the bigger parties leave no stone unturned to pump money, musle and other support in kind to their candidates. This time apart from these two national parties and independent candidates , the regional political party has also supported maximum candidates in Utarakhand closing to have won in majority of seats. Speaking on social media video Ashutosh Negi, national secretary of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal has said that UKD candidates have done in majority of seats in Uttarakhand with BJP and Congress far behind. A single instance of BJP losing in majority of seats this time and UKD claiming of its candidates victory with Congress and BJP distant third, according to a senior Journalist Mr Ajay Singh Rathi said emphatically that in these elections at the decentralised level in Uttarakhand the ruling party’s candidates have lost in majority of seats with independents and UKD candidates winning in majority of seats. Mr.Rathi wrote :
The BJP horse of the electoral Ashwamedha Yagna that has been running at full speed for many years was stopped by the opponents at many places in the Uttarakhand Panchayat elections. BJP contested 320 out of the total 358 seats of the Zilla Panchayat member but could win only around 114 seats.

Now even if BJP may boast of counting its rebels among its own and increasing its list, its success rate in the election of Zilla Parishad member fell below 35%.

Such results before the assembly elections are pointing towards deep introspection.

But where everyone from the examination hall to the examiner is your own and still you get only passing marks, then future examinations bring tough challenges. Meanwhile the wife of Dilip Singh Rawat, MLA from Lansdowne for the third consecutive term has lost a Jila Panchayat member election from Jehrikhal unambiguously giving the impression of the downsizing image of the saffron party.
