Special Intensive Revision controversy gaining momentum , INDIA leaders protest in Parliament , Apex court gives assurance to intervene

The controversy pertaining to Special Intensive Revision ( SIT)  of electoral rolls is gaining tremendous momentum in Bihar especially after the startling revelations of fake voters enrolment etc. by the senior journalist AAA Media chief anchor Ajit Anjum against whom an FIR has also been lodged.

The apex court has also directed the election commission to include the Adhaar Card, Ration Card and Voter Identity card as proof to be voter in the electoral rolls in Bihar and had also said that in case any discrepancy or wrong doings takes place in SIT of electoral rolls it will intervene forthwith.

The Election Commission had though been permitted by the apex court to continue publication of the new electoral rolls under SIT.

The petitioners ‘ counsels however objected saying that what will be the fate of those whose names are not being included or deleted who have Adhar Cards, Ration Cards and Voter Identity cards which have always been allowed as the identity proof to include the names of voters in electoral rolls.

The apex court therefore directed the EC to consider these three as sufficient Bonafide proofs for including their names in the voter lists.

There are reports that under the ongoing SIT of the electoral rolls in Bihar , names of about fifty lakhs voters , even more are being deleted by the EC which include those dead, or fake voters etc.

Meanwhile, the India National Inclusive Developmental Alliance MPs led by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi have staged a protest on Monday at the Parliament house precincts against the ongoing SIT in Bihar terming it as completely farce to delete the names of millions of dalit, minority and backward community voters under the guise of eleven new conditions laid down by the election commission not considering the Adhar Card, Ration card and the voter identity card as the basic proof.

The members of parliament of I.N.D.I.A were carrying play cards and raising slogans against the ongoing SIT in Bihar.

All the protesting MPs were raising slogans standing behind a huge banner in which it was written in Bold letters : SIR – ATTACK ON DEMOCRACY”.

The Congress president and leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge while reacting to SIT in Bihar said INDIA alliance will continue to raise voice for people’s rights in Parliament.

A conspiracy to snatch away the voting rights of weaker sections by implementing SIR across the country will not be tolerated!

We will not let the Manuvadi mentality of RSS-BJP dominate democracy and the Constitution wrote Kharge on X.
