It may be recalled that the increasing encroachment by human beings in the territory of this wild carnivores including deforestation, forest fires, and reducing their natural hunting ground and non availability of their preys etc are some of the pivotal reasons for the increasing attacks of man-eater leopard in human habitats which is terribly increasing day by day in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand. The man-eaters after tasting the human flesh by consuming human remains including increasing wild life and human interactions have also led to the increasing man-eater attacks becoming fatal most of the time. There have been several incidents of children and women being grabbed by maneaters even from House Compounds and killed brutally by dragging them to the jungles.
