The ED case against Dr. Harak Singh Rawat was till date in a feeble mode and the latter had been publicly making mockery of the ED sleuths saying in front of the camera that the agency is vindictive and his political rivals are behind it.

He even said amid laughing that there is nothing against him but just a political vendetta pointing towards the ruling party since he left the BJP in 2022.

Those whose names have been mentioned in the chargesheet filed in the court against Dr. Rawat beside him is his wife Deepti Rawat, Veerendra Kandari, Lakshmi Rana and Purna Charitable Trust.

It remains to be seen as to how the former minister Dr. Rawat leads his case in the court of law against the money laundering case chargesheet and in which way will his political career be affected , especially when the state assembly elections are slated for 2027 , only two years left.

His daughter in law Akriti Gusain, a former beauty queen’s name had also been allegedly involved in one of the cases and had lost the election from Lansdowne assbly constituency when she had contested as the Congress candidate against BJP’s Dilip Rawat the sitting MLA and Mahant of The popular Sidhbali Temple, Kotdwara.

She had later joined the saffron party later on. Dr. Harak Singh Rawat had joined BJP in 2016 ditching Harish Rawat, the then CM taking with him nine MLAs and was back to pavilion ( Congress ) in 2022 thinking that the Congress will return to power. But the opposite happened and BJP staged a comeback with a dashing majority for the second consecutive term.
