I have been saying repeatedly that Uttarakhand has become a synonym of fatal accidents and a day is not left when fatal accidents do not occur in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand.
The reasons behind these tragedies are numerous from driving after consuming liquor, rash driving, over driving with no rest, overtaking , talking in mobiles while driving, driving on speed, blind turns, vehicles over loaded losing balance , slippery and imbalanced muddy roads with clay and potholes due to monsoon, landslides and several other reasons but unfortunately the transport department of Uttarakhand is doing nothing to exercise checks on rash, overloading and negligent driving etc.
Day in and day out accidents especially the fatal ones with vehicles falling in gorges have become very common in Uttarakhand.
As a sequel to these ongoing fatal accidents another tragedy occurred near a school of Bisald village in Pabou Pauri Garhwal where a speeding Pickup could not be controlled by the driver and plunged into a gorge several metres down brutally killing the driver hailing from the same village BISHALD.
The name of the deceased driver was Anand Singh son of Gamal Singh Bhandari. There is shock in the entire village and the surrounding after the death of this young boy with the parents going into trauma. The SDRF and the local police including the residents reached the accident spot and have retrieved the dead body, finally sent for postmortem by the police.
