The journalist and advocate turned politician currently the Vice President of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Ashutosh Negi has become the synonym to come to the rescue of the innocent women and girls being targeted by the eve teasers, criminals and rapists in Uttarakhand.
After being a leading activist in the relentless struggle from day one in Ankita Bhandari case from 18 September 2022 , the day she went mysteriously missing and FIR registered on his initiative, till the day of delivery of rigorous life imprisonment by the Kotdwar Additional Sessions judge Renu Negi to the three obnoxious culprits for the brutal murder of the 19 year old innocent girl , any girl or family confronting with issues relating to women insecurity dial Ashutosh NEGI’s mobile number who comes to their rescue within no time ensuring the arrest of the culprits by meeting the top brass of the Uttarakhand police and if need be staging social protests to give them due justice.
As a sequel to Ashutosh NEGI’s efforts in this context he met the Inspector General of Uttarakhand police ( Garhwal Range) to help a girl who was allegedly being harnessed and victimised under the jurisdiction of Prem Nagar police station and the police not registering her FIR who was made to come to the police station repeatedly since April 21.
Instead of cooperating with her and lodging her FIR the victimised girl who had also parted with Rs two lakhs to the boy earlier and was maltreated with sexual assault was sent back scolding her not to come to the police station again.
The distressed girl and her family were in a real mess and badly terrified having no scope for justice.
The girl belongs to Uttarkashi and the boy is named Harjinder of Tehri, Garhwal .
According to the girl when she went to him to demand Rs.Two lakhs given to him not only did he attack her but also tried to play with her dignity said the girl by allegedly sexually assaulting her and tearing her clothes .
When the girl was badly terrified she wrote on social media about committing suicide. Someone read the post and contacted Ashutosh NEGI who immediately along with the victimised girl met the IG Garhwal range who in turn contacted the CO of Prem Nagar Police station and directed him to immediately lodge the case against the culprit.
The police are hopeful about the alleged culprit to be arrested shortly and the girl given due justice by not only getting back Rs Two lakhs but also bringing the boy to justice forthwith. It may be recalled that earlier too in the cases pertaining to the private hotel employees of Dehradun and Yamkeshwar Ashutosh NEGI and his team had helped them get their blocked salaries released for which he and two others had to be imprisoned on false and fabricated grounds.
