A massive fire broke out in Delhi Hatt in Lakshmi Bai Nagar , New Delhi yesterday evening at 8.40 PM though no casualty has been reported. The fire has resulted in tremendous loss as the large flames of the billowing fire were witnessed creating immense panic in the entire area with people running helter and skelter for safe refuge rushing out of the Dilli Haat Market which is usually crowded and bustling with good business. According to the latest news the galloping fire within no time has completely destroyed at least 36 stalls in the market bringing them down to rubble with shops of artefacts, artificial jewellery and Kashmiri shawls etc losing their existence leading to loss in crores. The thankful part of the tragedy is that no human casualties were reported though the loss was immense in crores revealed the shopkeepers. The Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta expressed her serious concerns over this incident expressing X : The news of the fire incident at Dilli Haat is unfortunate. The team of firefighters have brought the fire under control. No casualties have been reported so far. We are closely monitoring the situation & ensuring all necessary assistance to those affected wrote the Delhi CM in X. The Delhi minister of culture and language Kapil Mishra visited the affected site at the Dilli Hatt and assured the shopkeepers that the Delhi government will bear the entire losses and will compensate them fully. He wrote on X : On the Delhi Haat fire incident, Minister Kapil Mishra says, “As soon as we received the information about the fire, I came here. This is a very unfortunate incident; around 26 shops have been completely gutted. The artisans and vendors who run these shops have suffered serious losses. I have instructed my officials to assess the total damage. We will not let any artisan suffer losses, the government is fully standing with them…” said the minister of culture and language Of Delhi Kapil Mishra.
