Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) and LJP( R) led by Chirag Paswan to contest on Burari and Devli seat in alliance with BJP
While the Indian National Inclusive Development Alliance partners Congress and AAM ADMI PARTY are fighting each other in Delhi elections with Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejrival at loggerheads accusing each other in public meetings despite being the part and parcel of INDIA sending a wrong message in the public, in BJP led NDA things are quite contrary as the Bhartiya Janata Party High command has allocated two seats, one each to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s JD ( U) candidate in Burari and another to late Ram Vilas Paswan’s Party LJP in Devli, though it’s a well known fact that BJP is compelled to do so having taken their support to run their government st the centre.
Both these seats are dominated by the votes of Biharies and purvanchalies reveal sources.
It may be recalled that the JD(U) led by the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and LJP led by the son of late Ram Vilas Paswan, Chirag Paswan are supporting the BJP at the centre and in Bihar too the state assembly elections are expected this year. Therefore to keep the JD ( U) and LJP in good humour to get its due share in Bihar assembly elections , the BJP has given two seats in Delhi to these two political parties.
While Chirag Paswan of LJP ( R) is the cabinet minister in Modi’s council of ministers , JD( U) too has few ministers at the centre .
The Modi government with the BJP’s individual strength of just 240 MPs quite below the majority mark is being run on the crutches of TD party led by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s JD ( U) support.
Chirag Paswan, chief of LJP( R) has said that we will claim on those seats only where we think our position is strong as we are committed to make the NDA strong and viable in Delhi too.
It may be recalled that that Delhi elections are to be held on 5 th February with counting in 8 th. There are seventy assembly seats in Delhi with AAP having its upper hand and ruling in the national capital since 2013.
The AAP, BJP and Congress are in the fray and there seems to be a triangular contest in majority of the constituencies with AAP and Congress trying to invade into the same vote banks of Muslims, Dalits, backwards and those living in unauthorised colonies and J.J. clusters.
The BJP is banking more on the polarised vote bank on religious majoritarianism depending more on alleged Muslim Hindu divide.
Last time also while AAP had eaten most of the Congress vote bank the 36% vote share of the BJP was intact despite the hard fact that it could weild political power in Delhi since 1998.
