There have been massive demand in the social media for bringing out a concrete land act in Uttarakhand similar to the land act in Himachal Pradesh that restricts outsiders to purchase land in Himachal Pradesh but on the contrary unfortunately in Uttarakhand, the state government under the tenure of the previous chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat allegedly granted permission to even outsiders to purchase more than 12.5 acres of land for establishing industries in Uttarakhand lifting the earlier ceiling of 250 square yards of land for outsiders.
The original inhabitants of Uttarakhand feel cheated and are apprehensive that it won’t be too long when the existence of the original inhabitants of this Himalayan state will be at stake thus losing their cultural traditions and identity.
While the campaign for enactment of a new land act to preserve Uttarakhand’s land for its original citizens is going viral in the social media another vedio posted by Brijesh Rawat is going viral in social media under the title : Congratulations!!! Now the meadows ( Bugyal) are also being sold!!! Seen the speed of Double Engine government !!!
According to the vedio posted by Brijesh Rawat in FB, the magnificent green meadows situated on the mountain top at Benital under the jurisdiction of the winter capital of Uttarakhand, Gairsain have been claimed by someone not belonging to Uttarakhand as its actual owner, having given by the Britishers.
The signboards claiming to be the owner of these magnificent meadows( Bugyals) have been put up and when a person in the vedio, visited these fabulous pitch green meadows to inspect the lake having gone dry, he was astonished to find that these Bughyals which according to him should have been in the possession of the state govt, gram sabha or Punchayats but unfortunately being claimed by an influential private party.
Not only this but the roads leading to these magnificent BUGYALS have also been closed arbitrarily says the gentleman in the vedio posted in Facebook. According to a report of “JAGO UTTARAKHAND”
this is an extremely serious issue which warrants impartial high level enquiry as to how these vast meadows have gone in the possession of influential private party.
The news report says that the “BENITAL BACHAO SANGHARSH SAMITTEE” already exists but they are badly disappointed for not being able to do anything. The former MLA Ansuiya Prasad Maikhuri and present MLA Surendra Negi are well aware of this matter but despite repeated demands of the SANGHARSH SAMITTEE , these MLAs could not do anything which raises a finger of suspicion towards them as well says the Jago Uttarakhand report. The Sainik Shiromani Manoj Dhyani and man of the movement Swamy Mukund Krishna Dass have personally inspected this area and warned the state government authorities to intervene in this matter at the earliest failing which they will be free to resort to direct action. Jago Uttarakhand has appealed to the state government to take suo motto of this burning issue and initiate relevant action against the defaulters in this context.
It may be recalled that the Meadows are situated at the higher elevation range of 3,300 or 4000 metres above sea level in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand called nature’s own gardens on mountain tops as plain or sloped meadows.
