Uttarakhand CM Dhami orders for restoration of electricity, water and roads in cloud burst affected Baijron and surrounding Bironkhal areas. UKD demands adequate compensation for affected familes
After the cloud burst incident at Baijron in Bironkhal block of Pauri Garhwal Uttarakhand where the damage to house was extensive the chief minister Of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the district administration to expedite relief work in the heavy rain-affected Baijaro and surrounding areas of Bironkhal block of Pauri district. The Chief Minister spoke to the District Magistrate on phone late Thursday evening and took detailed information regarding relief work. The Chief Minister said that essential facilities like electricity, water, roads etc should be restored in the affected areas as soon as possible and the process of giving compensation to the affected people should also be expedited. According to the Additional District Magistrate Pauri, the work of removing debris from houses and cow sheds is being completed rapidly. Drinking water is being supplied through tankers to the villages affected due to damage to drinking water schemes. JCB has been deployed to restore Highway 32, traffic is expected to be restored on this highway by May 25. The work of removing debris from other routes is also going on.
Today, on Thursday, food packets and water bottles were distributed to the affected people of Sukai village. The national media incharge of Bhartiya Janata Party and its parliamentary candidate from Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency Anil Baluni wrote on X after hearing about the cloud burst incident at Baijron n Beeronkhal : Received the sad news of cloudburst in Baijaro area of Pauri district. In this regard, spoke to the District Magistrate Pauri and took stock of the relief and rescue operations.
The District Magistrate said that debris has entered many houses, some vehicles have been damaged, many roads have been damaged and water supply has also been disrupted. The local administration is engaged in clearing the debris and restarting the water supply as soon as possible and efforts are being made to restore normal life. The houses which have been damaged will be provided proper compensation under the disaster rules. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Meanwhile, Ganesh Godiyal , the Congress leader visited the the affected areas of the Baijron where the damage to roads, houses and the local populace has been extensive meeting the affective people and assessing the extent of damage caused due to excessive rains and cloud burst. The journalist turned candidate from Pauri Garhwal constituency on Uttarakhand Kranti Dal ticket Ashutosh Negi expressed his serious concern over the cloud burst incident at Baijron and surrounding areas of Bironkhal and demanded that the MLA of Chawbattakhal n minister Satpal Maharaj take immediate cognisance of the matter and visit the affected areas to compensate the local populace adequately who have been adversely affected by this calamity. He also urged upon the district magistrate of Pauri Garhwal to take immediate stock of the alarming situation and expedite the relief and rescue operations there of. Asutosh also urged the chief minister to personally visit the damaged sites and assess the situation for himself alongwith the entire machinery to enable the affected people acknowledge top priority attention and relief.
